My current practice
I began meditating in 2005 and practice within the Insight meditation tradition. I have a particular interest in enquiry and how the sense of self is created. I've worked with Liberation Unleashed and with a direct pointing method called The Ten Fetters. My continued investigations into the nature of awareness are supported by a regular Qigong practice, and I've been a student of the Diamond Approach for many years.
Writing has always been a central practice in my life. My poetry has been published in Orbis, The Interpreters House and Urthona, commended by Leaf Books and shortlisted for the Bridport Prize. I am increasingly publishing my writings on Substack here.
Work Life
I have been teaching mindfulness-based approaches since 2012. I am currently a trainer, supervisor and retreat lead for Breathworks CIC and the Mindfulness Network. As an independent teacher, I offer meditation retreats in the UK and Europe, and regular groups and courses. I deliver JEDI Training (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) for groups and organisations, specialising in exploring social class and classism. I endeavour to apply insights from meditation practice and dharma teachings to situations of social, political, environmental, and economic injustice. I qualified as a therapist in 1995; my approach is integrative and draws on awareness and compassion-based approaches.
